Curtain Call:Wilmington Youth Theater Honors

CURTAIN CALL was created to educate, connect, and elevate the next generation of theater artists — a joyful showcase celebrating the creativity and passion of young performers and giving them a well-deserved curtain call for their hard work and dedication.

A collaborative effort between the Arts Council of Wilmington and the Wilson Center, Curtain Call Wilmington Youth Theater Honors was born from a shared belief that after years of seeing youth theater recognized in a competitive way at the Wilmington Theater Awards - we realized there’s no single “best” in youth theater - every student, every production, and every performance deserves to shine - so we created a CELEBRATION!

This inspiring day includes a Broadway workshop led by a professional artist, honoring standout student performers from regional schools and theater companies. What better way to spend a Sunday than celebrating young talent and their love of the stage?

The day culminates in an evening performance featuring workshop participants, and every attendee will receive a Curtain Call Certificate of Completion & Honorable Mention.

Join us Sunday, January 11, 2026 — and be part of the celebration!

Sound? Accompaniment? Costumes? Medley? Scene?

Microphones will be available. Costumes are not required. Performing a medley, musical number or scene from a straight play are all acceptable. You can use either tracks or pianist - we will have a Music Director on site.

Can anyone attend Curtain Call Youth Theater Honors?

Yes come to the Wilson and witness the talent! You can purchase tickets at the Wilson for $15. Teachers/Directors can attend for FREE.

Path to the Jimmy Awards?

In order to participate, we have to become a RAP (Regional Awards Program) of the Jimmy’s - where we have to be sponsored by a member of the Broadway League. The Wilson is in the process of joining the Broadway League and this takes time.  We hope to tie CURTAIN CALL to the JIMMY AWARDS for 2027.  Our intention with CURTAIN CALL was never to name a single “Best” but rather spotlight and celebrate our amazing youth talent from each school and company BUT we would have to reserve only the Senior Category for a “Best” selection to potentially send two performers to participate in the Jimmy Awards.
