HOW TO AUDITION
Summer Stock is by AUDITION ONLY! Auditions take place in MARCH and we finalize casting before school gets out in order for performer’s to arrange their summer plans.
Our goal is to provide high-quality children's theater to the community that not only entertains but also educates, instilling valuable life lessons in our young performers and audiences alike.
We prepare for each production with a two week intensive rehearsal process prior to tech week (usually 3 hrs/day; 3-4x/week - depends on your role). Rehearsals will be scheduled based on cast conflicts and rehearsal space availability!

PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS BY VIDEO FIRST - DATES TBA
Please Submit:
- Singers A CAPPELLA ONLY - no tracks, just want to hear your voice!
- Actors choose a song that best reflects your personality, must be memorized, want to see your emotion!
- Dancers can ALSO submit an additional short dance video from a recital or competition. This is optional and purely to showcase your skills.
- Actors - monologue submissions - applies only to straight plays - not musicals.
**Keep in mind - our summer stock shows are performed with families in mind! We prefer to start early so you can enjoy dinner out afterwards without the stress of being late for the show! Show times are usually at 3pm and 6pm and concluding by 7pm except for final dress.

Performance Club's Summer Stock theater series are semi-professional productions for audiences of all ages! Our summer stock productions have been performed at the RUTH & BUCKY STEIN THEATRE at the historic Thalian Hall in downtown Wilmington. We have been lucky to have some of Wilmington's finest young talent over the years! Plus we have been nominated every year for BEST CHILDREN'S THEATRE in Wilmington since 2011!
VIDEO GUIDELINES
- Stand in front of a plain, solid colored wall.
- Have good lighting. In Focus.
- Camera must be steady, recommend a tripod.
- No hats, sunglasses, gum or props OR ACCENTS!
- Standing only, no sitting
- The performer needs to be the only person on camera
- Take 10 seconds to slate your name/age/school.
- Frame head to shoulder.
- Keep song or monologue under ONE minute to send as email attachment 25MB max.
- If file is larger, send as UNLISTED YouTube link (PREFERRED)
- The subject line of the email must contain your Full Name_Age_School
- In the email also include the show(s),any special talents or CONFLICTS
- Once we receive your submission We will send a confirmation and casting audition form!

Once your child is cast, production support fees are requested to cover expenses of the show which are comparable to weekly summer camp fees but the experience of being involved in a production is far more rewarding! CASTING WORKSHOPS
Why have workshops?
Casting workshops allows the creative team to preview and gauge the casts' capabilities in a low-pressure setting. Workshops will cover music, choreography and scene work over a weekend. Workshops allow us to refine the show while providing a theatrical educational experience to the invited participants.
Imagine no stress to learn the combination in minutes, mixing and matching scene partners, seeing the casting process and understanding chemistry.
After the last workshop - we will finalize casting and begin rehearsing based on conflicts.
Casting will be FINALIZED after the WORKSHOPS. We understand parents want to solidify their summer plans so we aim to cast by mid-May.
